The beautiful Green Aventurine

When we consider some of the materials jewelry is made with-metals derived from the earth's crust and gemstones, which, like crystals,  have significant metaphysical properties- it's hard to deny the cosmic allure. Every gem has its own origin and special meaning...

Mined original from India, a major source of Green Aventurine, this beautiful stone also occurs in the lans of Brazil. Popular for using in jewelry and is often made into beads or incorporated into boxes, intricate figurines or other artwork. Aventurine was first discovered in the 18th century.

Its name comes form the Italian, "A ventura" meaning, "by chance". One day sometime in the 1700's, a worker accidentally dropped metal fillings into a vat of melting glass. When the glass cooled, it was used to make jewelry as it had beautiful, random iridescent sparkles throughout it. The name "Aventurine" was later given to the natural stone as it looked like this glass.

Green Aventurine is know as "The Stone of Opportunity". It is considered the luckies of all of the crystals, bringing good fortune in many different forms, whether it's financial luck, luck with relationships, or simply luck in anything one does. Aventurine is also know to aid in breaking unhealthy patterns and habits, encouraging growth and change.
